It’s been a long time coming and now it’s finally been announced that the UAE’s first ever Apple Stores are opening this month.
Al Barsha’s Mall of the Emirates in Dubai and Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi have unveiled creative barricades around the two stores, which will be open for business on Thursday October 29.
The fences around seem to be a celebration of their debut in the Middle East too as they appear to be by Arabic calligrapher Samir Sayegh.
The ancient art form can be seen on the new level at Mall of the Emirates.
A grand opening time has been set for 4pm in Dubai and 7pm in Abu Dhabi on the day, but general opening hours are 10am-10pm Monday to Wednesday and 10am – 11.59pm Thursday-Saturday, with nothing so far announced for Sundays.
There will be a genius bar and workshops taking place in both venues.
Last August we warned that it was coming, telling you that the American tech giant was expected to open its largest store in the world. However at the time it was expected to be opening in the first quarter of 2015, and exceeding the size of the current flagship in New York which is 23,000 sq ft. In a recent statement, Apple described the UAE as one of its fastest growing markets.
